• Class 1 Learning Pathway

    Welcome to the Learning Management System (LMS)

    Alberta is leading the way in Class 1 driver training and licensing with the Class 1 Learning Pathway for commercial truck drivers. The pathway offers a flexible, apprentice-style approach to support experienced drivers in their ongoing career development.

    • NOTICE: SITE UPDATE AUGUST 17 from 7:00 - 10:00AM

      The Transportation and Economic Corridors (TEC) Learning Management System (LMS) will be undergoing a maintenance update on August 17, 2025 starting at 7:00AM with the expected outage being complete by 10:00AM.

      During the update period, the LMS will be put in "maintenance mode" identifying to any user that the system is being updated, and no user logins will be permitted.

    • Instructions for Sign-Up

      Follow these steps to enrol in training.

      • To sign up for training you must have a verified Alberta.ca account. To create and/or verify your account, click here.
      • Once you have a verified Alberta.ca account, most learners must start with the online Entry Program (exceptions below). You can sign up here. The fee is $250. Please ensure you have a payment card ready.
      • If you would like help from a licenced instructor to complete the Entry Program, you can contact a licenced driver training school.

       

      You must register for training through a licenced driver training school if:

      • you have already completed the Entry Program and are ready to take the Core Learning and/or Competence Building program; or
      • you qualify for the Experience and Equivalency Program, or have held a farm-restricted Class 1 licence for at least 12 months and qualify for the Competence Building Program.

       

      You can use the LMS throughout your training journey to view your results and course materials.
